Vice Chairman
Robert K. Steel serves as Vice Chairman and Partner of Perella Weinberg Partners. Mr. Steel served as PWP’s Chief Executive Officer from 2014 until February 28, 2019 and has more than 40 years of experience. Prior to joining PWP, he was New York City’s Deputy Mayor for Economic Development from 2010 to 2013. In 2008, he was named president and Chief Executive Officer of Wachovia Corporation, where he oversaw the sale of the bank to Wells Fargo & Co. and served on the Wells Fargo board of directors until 2010. Prior to that, Mr. Steel was Under Secretary for Domestic Finance of the United States Treasury from 2006 to 2008. From 1976 to 2004, he worked at Goldman Sachs, rising to Head of the Global Equities Division, Vice Chairman of the firm and a member of its Management Committee. Mr. Steel serves on the board of Cadence Bank. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University and a Master in Business Administration from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
